To convert is to embark on a process: in religious terms, this involves a decision to commit the whole life to God.  But this cannot be achieved by a single act of the will, nor does it occur in a day, or after a single event, however dramatic and life-altering that event may be.  Conversion, in other words, often involves isolated moments of incandescence, but it is finally an ongoing project….

Ages ago, I quoted a bit from a biography of St. Francis of Asisi. This is another bit I squirreled away from the same source.
